LA Times Festival of Books 2016

What's up everyone, Luigi here. This past Sunday our club had the privilege of volunteering at the LA Times Festival of Books at USC, where we helped manage the festival's proceedings. This has been one the club's larger community service events, with around forty members participating.

We arrived at USC at around 11 in the morning, just in time for lunch, for some of us at least. By the time we checked in, there was only 10 minutes before our first shift, and we had to run. Once we got to our assigned places, we began. We didn't have particularly hard jobs; we were in charge of counting the number of people who came to the panels, directing people where to go and helping the people in charge with whatever they needed. After our shift was over, we got a chance to explore and see what was going on in different parts of the festival. We saw poets, authors, and performers, everywhere we went. All in all, it was very lively and fun! Props to the service team for picking a great event.
